The term 'Scam with Three Cards' is a reference to the card game known as 'Three-card Monte'. It is a confidence trick in which the victim, or 'MARK', is tricked into betting on the assumption that they can find the 'money card' among three face-down playing cards. The MARK will never win as the dealer uses sleight of hand to move the money card around. This scam has been around since the 16th century and is still used today.
