Sandra Dee was an American actress best known for her roles in the 1960s films 'Gidget' and 'Tammy and the Bachelor'. She was born Alexandra Zuck in Bayonne, New Jersey in 1942 and began her career as a child model. She won a Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Female Newcomer in 1959 and was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Foreign Actress in 1960. Dee passed away in 2005 at the age of 63.
