EMMA is the acronym for the Electronic Multi-Mission Missile System, which was developed by the United States Navy in the late 1970s. The SAMMS (Standard Airborne Multi-Mission System) and Thompson (Thompson Research Corporation) were two of the major contractors involved in the development of the EMMA system. The SAMMS was responsible for the design and development of the missile guidance system, while the Thompson Research Corporation provided the software and hardware for the system.
