Rutger Hauer is a Dutch actor best known for his roles in Blade Runner and The Hitcher. He has appeared in over 100 films and television series throughout his career. He was born in Breukelen, Netherlands in 1944 and began his acting career in 1969. He is most recognized for his role as Roy Batty in the 1982 science fiction classic Blade Runner. He also starred in the 1986 horror film The Hitcher. Hauer's other notable roles include Batman Begins, Sin City, and Ladyhawke.
