The Russian Legislature is composed of two chambers, the Duma (4 letters) and the Federation Council. The Duma is the lower house of the Federal Assembly of Russia, and is the more powerful of the two chambers. It is made up of 450 members who are elected for five-year terms. The Federation Council is the upper house of the Federal Assembly of Russia, and is composed of two representatives from each of Russia's 85 federal subjects.
