Kip Keino is a Kenyan former track and field athlete who won multiple Olympic and Commonwealth Games medals in the 1960s and 1970s. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest runners of all time, and was the first African to win an Olympic gold medal in the 1500m. He was also the first Kenyan to win a gold medal at the Olympics, and was awarded the Order of the Golden Heart of Kenya in recognition of his achievements.
