Rocky formations are geological features that are composed of rocks and other materials. Mesas, tors, and crags are all examples of rocky formations. Mesas are flat-topped hills or mountains with steep sides, while tors are isolated rock formations that rise abruptly from the surrounding land. Crags are rugged, rocky cliffs or outcrops. All three of these rocky formations are found in many different landscapes around the world.
