Rob Roy, for one, is a famous Scottish folk hero and outlaw who lived in the early 18th century. He was born Robert MacGregor and was known as Rob Roy in Scotland. He was a member of the Clan Gregor and was a cattle rustler and a leader of a band of outlaws. He was also a Jacobite sympathizer and fought against the British government. He was eventually pardoned by King George I and died in 1734.
