Chita Rivera is an American actress, dancer, and singer who has been active in the entertainment industry since the 1950s. She is best known for her roles in musical theatre, including her Tony Award-winning performance as Anita in the original Broadway production of West Side Story. She also won two other Tony Awards for her roles in The Rink and Kiss of the Spider Woman. Rivera is also the first Hispanic woman to receive a Kennedy Center Honor.
