A religious journey is a journey taken for spiritual or religious reasons. A PILGRIMAGE is a long journey, often to a sacred place, undertaken as an act of devotion. The Hajj is the Islamic PILGRIMAGE to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, and is one of the five pillars of Islam. The Hajj is performed during the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah. The Hajj is also known as the Hajj al-Tamattu, which is a PILGRIMAGE that includes both Umrah and Hajj.
