The term 'rebound of sound' is often referred to as an ECHO. An ECHO is a reflection of sound that is heard after the original sound has been made. It is created when sound waves are reflected off of a surface, such as a wall or mountain, and then return to the listener's ears. The time between the original sound and the ECHO depends on the distance between the source of the sound and the reflecting surface.
