The Reagan Prog was an initiative proposed by President Ronald Reagan in 1983. It was a plan to develop and deploy a network of ground-based and space-based ballistic missile defense systems. The Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) was the name given to the program, which was intended to protect the United States from nuclear attack. SDI was a major part of Reagan's foreign policy agenda during his presidency.
