Ragnarok is a 2017 superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Thor. It is the sequel to the 2011 film Thor and the 2013 film Thor: The Dark World, and the seventeenth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film follows Thor as he attempts to stop Ragnarok, the prophesied destruction of Asgard, from being unleashed by an ancient enemy. The film stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.
