Queen Mary, for one, was a British ocean LINER that was built in 1934 and operated by the Cunard Line. It was the largest ship in the world at the time of its launch and was the first major ocean LINER to be powered by steam turbines. The Queen Mary was also the first LINER to have a swimming pool and a cinema onboard. It sailed between Southampton, England and New York City, USA, and was nicknamed the 'Grey Ghost' due to its distinctive grey paint job. The Queen Mary was retired from service in 1967 and is now permanently moored in Long Beach, California, where it serves as a tourist attraction.
