Queen Dowager Noor of Jordan was the widow of King Hussein and mother of King Abdullah II. She was born in Amman, Jordan in 1938 and was the first queen consort of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. She was an advocate for education and women's rights, and was a strong supporter of her husband's efforts to promote peace in the Middle East.
