The Quechuas are an indigenous people of South America, primarily located in the Andes region. They are best known for being the original inhabitants of the Inca Empire, which was the largest empire in pre-Columbian America. The Quechuas were a major part of the Inca Empire and their language, Quechua, was the official language of the empire. Today, Quechua is still spoken by millions of people in Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, and Argentina.
