Pulver's Rank is an ENSIGN, which is a military rank in the United States Navy and Coast Guard that is just above Seaman and below Lieutenant Junior Grade. It is the lowest commissioned officer rank and is typically held by newly commissioned officers while they are attending initial training. The rank is also used in other countries, such as the United Kingdom, where it is known as Sub-Lieutenant.
