Conrad AIKEN was an American poet who won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1930. He was born in Savannah, Georgia in 1889 and was a major figure in the modernist literary movement. His works often explored themes of alienation, despair, and the search for identity. He wrote over 20 volumes of poetry and prose, and his most famous works include Ushant, The Charnel Rose, and Selected Poems. He died in 1973.
