Zoe Akins was a Pulitzer Prize-winning American playwright, poet, and author. She won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1930 for her play 'Dishonored Lady'. Akins was born in Humansville, Missouri in 1886 and began writing poetry at an early age. She wrote several plays throughout her career, including 'The Greeks Had a Word for It' and 'The Old Maid'. Akins also wrote several novels, short stories, and screenplays. She died in 1958 in Los Angeles, California.
