Conrad AIKEN was an American poet who won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1930 for his collection of poems entitled 'Selected Poems'. He was born in Savannah, Georgia in 1889 and died in 1973. He was a prolific writer, publishing over 20 volumes of poetry, as well as novels, short stories, and essays. He was also a member of the National Institute of Arts and Letters and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
