Puccini's 'Tosca' is an opera in three acts composed by Giacomo Puccini and based on Victorien Sardou's play of the same name. It premiered at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome on 14 January 1900 and has since become one of the most performed operas in the world. The story follows the struggles of the heroine, Floria Tosca, as she attempts to save her lover from the clutches of a corrupt police chief.
