Otis Chandler was a publisher and the former owner of the Los Angeles Times. He was the fourth generation of the Chandler family to own the newspaper, and he served as its publisher from 1960 to 1980. During his tenure, he transformed the paper into one of the most respected newspapers in the country. He also launched the Los Angeles Times Magazine and created the first Sunday magazine supplement in the United States.
