Prosecutor Ken Starr is an American lawyer and former judge who served as the independent counsel in the Whitewater investigation during the Clinton administration. He is also known for his role in the impeachment of President Bill Clinton. Starr was appointed to the position of United States Solicitor General in 1989 and later became a federal judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. In 1994, he was appointed as the independent counsel to investigate the Whitewater scandal. He later expanded his investigation to include the Monica Lewinsky scandal, which ultimately led to the impeachment of President Clinton.
