The Problem of the Middle Ages refers to the social and economic issues that arose during the period of European history between the fall of the Roman Empire and the beginning of the Renaissance. The term is often used to describe the period of political, economic, and social unrest that characterized the era. One of the solutions to this problem was the establishment of the SAG, or the Statutes of the Guilds, which were a set of laws that regulated the activities of the guilds, which were associations of merchants and craftsmen. The Statutes of the Guilds provided a framework for the regulation of trade and commerce, as well as a means of resolving disputes between guild members.
