A Prisoner of War Camp (WW) is a place where captured enemy combatants are held during wartime. Two of the most famous Prisoner of War Camps from World War II were Stalag and Colditz. Stalag was a German acronym for Stammlager, meaning 'main camp'. It was a series of camps used to hold captured Allied soldiers. Colditz was a castle in Germany that was used as a high-security prisoner of war camp for Allied officers who had escaped from other camps.
