Printing marks are symbols used in the printing process to indicate how a text should be formatted. The term PRINTING MARK includes five different symbols: CARET (5 letters), DELE (4 letters), STET (4 letters), TITTLE (6 letters) and ASTERISK (8 letters). CARET is a symbol used to indicate that a letter, word or phrase should be inserted into a text. DELE is a symbol used to indicate that a letter, word or phrase should be deleted from a text. STET is a symbol used to indicate that a letter, word or phrase should remain unchanged. TITTLE is a symbol used to indicate that a letter should be capitalized. ASTERISK is a symbol used to indicate that a footnote should be added to a text.
