The Prime Minister of 1945 was Clement Attlee, a British Labour Party politician. He served as Prime Minister from 1945 to 1951 and is widely regarded as one of the most successful British Prime Ministers of the 20th century. Attlee was responsible for the implementation of the welfare state, nationalisation of public utilities and industries, and the decolonisation of India and Palestine. He also played a major role in the establishment of the United Nations.
