Aldo Moro was the Prime Minister of Italy from 1963 to 1968 and again from 1974 to 1976. He was a prominent member of the Christian Democratic Party and was known for his efforts to reconcile the Italian Communist Party with the Christian Democrats. His tenure as Prime Minister was marked by several major initiatives, including the introduction of the divorce law and the establishment of the National Health Service. He was assassinated in 1978 by the Red Brigades, a left-wing terrorist group.
