President Jacques Chirac was the President of France from 1995 to 2007. He was a member of the Gaullist Rally for the Republic party and served as Prime Minister of France from 1974 to 1976 and from 1986 to 1988. Chirac was a very popular president, known for his charisma and his commitment to the French people. He was also a strong advocate for European integration and was instrumental in the creation of the Euro currency.
