Premier Khrushchev was Nikita Khrushchev, a Soviet politician who served as the First Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1953 to 1964. He was also the Premier of the Soviet Union from 1958 to 1964. Khrushchev was responsible for a number of reforms in the Soviet Union, including the de-Stalinization of the country and the introduction of the Soviet Union's 'peaceful coexistence' policy with the West. He is also remembered for his famous 'secret speech' in 1956, which denounced the crimes of Joseph Stalin.
