Prehistoric reptiles are animals that lived millions of years ago and are now extinct. The two most well-known prehistoric reptiles are the pterodactyl and the TRICERATOPS. The pterodactyl was a flying reptile with a wingspan of up to 10 feet and a long beak. It is believed to have been the first vertebrate to take to the air. The TRICERATOPS was a large, four-legged herbivore with a distinctive head featuring three horns and a bony frill. It was one of the last dinosaurs to exist before the mass extinction event that wiped out the majority of the species.
