Potter Josiah was an English potter and entrepreneur who founded the renowned pottery companies Spode and Wedgwood. He is credited with creating the first successful creamware, a type of pottery made from white clay. Spode, founded in 1767, was the first company to produce creamware and Josiah Wedgwood, founded in 1759, was the first to produce fine bone china. Both companies are still in operation today and are known for their high-quality products.
