Port-au-Prince is the capital of Haiti, a Caribbean country located on the western part of the island of Hispaniola. The country is bordered by the Dominican Republic to the east and the Caribbean Sea to the west. Haiti has a population of over 11 million people and is the most populous country in the Caribbean. It is also the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Haiti's official language is French, although many Haitians also speak Creole.
