Pool stroke is a term used to describe the various techniques used to swim in a pool. The five most common pool strokes are CRAWL (5 letters), masse (5 letters), BUTTERFLY (9 letters), LAG (3 letters) and dogpaddle (9 letters). CRAWL is a stroke where the swimmer propels themselves forward by alternating their arms and legs in a windmill motion. Masse is a stroke where the swimmer propels themselves forward by pushing off the wall of the pool with their feet and using their arms to pull them through the water. BUTTERFLY is a stroke where the swimmer propels themselves forward by simultaneously moving their arms in a circular motion and kicking their legs up and down. LAG is a stroke where the swimmer propels themselves forward by using their arms to pull them through the water while keeping their legs straight. Dogpaddle is a stroke where the swimmer propels themselves forward by using their arms and legs in a paddling motion.
