The Polynesian capital of Apia is the capital city of Samoa, located on the central north coast of Upolu Island. It is the country's political, economic, cultural and commercial centre, with a population of around 37, 000 people. Apia is the only urban area in Samoa and serves as the hub for the majority of the nation's transportation networks. The city is home to many historical sites, including the Robert Louis Stevenson Museum, the Samoa Cultural Village, and the Falealupo Rainforest Reserve.
