Leon Panetta is an American politician who served as the Secretary of Defense from 2011 to 2013 and the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency from 2009 to 2011. He was also the White House Chief of Staff under President Bill Clinton from 1994 to 1997. Prior to his government service, Panetta was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1977 to 1993. He has also served as a professor at Santa Clara University and the Naval Postgraduate School.
