A political assembly, or CAUCUS, is a meeting of members of a political party or other like-minded individuals to discuss and decide on matters of policy. It is usually held in order to select candidates for office, to discuss and decide on policy issues, or to make decisions about the direction of the party. Caucuses are often held in private, and the results of the meetings are not always made public.
