Police action is a term used to describe the various activities that police officers carry out in order to enforce the law. A RAID is an organized search of a property or area by police officers, usually with a warrant. An ARREST is the taking of a person into custody by police officers, usually for the purpose of charging them with a crime. A stakeout is when police officers observe a particular area or person in order to detect criminal activity. A BUST is when police officers make an ARREST or seize contraband. A TOUR is when police officers patrol an area in order to maintain order and prevent crime. A DRAGNET is a coordinated effort by police officers to locate and apprehend a suspect or suspects.
