An ODE is a lyric poem that typically expresses strong emotion and is often written in praise of a person or thing. A SONNET is a fourteen-line poem with a specific rhyme scheme and meter. An EPIC is a long narrative poem that tells the story of a hero's journey. Finally, a SESTINA is a poem composed of six stanzas of six lines each, followed by a three-line envoy.
