Poet Naomi Shihab Nye is an American poet, songwriter, and novelist. She was born in 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri to a Palestinian father and an American mother. Nye is best known for her work exploring the themes of culture, peace, justice, and understanding. Her most famous works include 'FUEL' and '19 Varieties of Gazelle: Poems of the Middle East'.
