The poet Mark Doty is an American poet, essayist, and memoirist. He has published eight collections of poetry, including My Alexandria (1993), which won the National Book Critics Circle Award, and Fire to Fire: New and Selected Poems (2008), which won the National Book Award. He has also written several books of nonfiction, including Heaven's Coast (1996) and Dog Years (2007). His work has been widely praised for its lyrical beauty and emotional depth.
