Federico Garcia Lorca was a Spanish poet, playwright, and theatre director. He is considered one of the greatest Spanish poets of the 20th century and is known for his works such as 'Romancero Gitano' and 'Poeta en Nueva York'. He was born in Fuente Vaqueros, Granada, Spain in 1898 and died in 1936 during the Spanish Civil War. His full name was Federico del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús García Lorca.
