Zoe Akins was an American playwright, poet, and author. She was born in Humansville, Missouri in 1886 and died in 1958. She won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1930 for her play 'Dishonored Lady'. She wrote several plays, including 'The Greeks Had a Word for It' and 'The Old Maid'. She also wrote several books of poetry and short stories.
