A plantation home, also known as a MANOR, is a large estate or house that was historically owned by wealthy landowners. It was typically used to grow crops such as cotton, tobacco, and sugar cane. Plantation homes were often built in the Southern United States during the 18th and 19th centuries. They were usually surrounded by large tracts of land and had a number of outbuildings, such as barns, stables, and slave quarters.
