The term PLANT ANCHOR is composed of two words, ROOT and SOIL. The ROOT of a plant is the part of the plant that is underground and absorbs water and nutrients from the SOIL. The SOIL is the material in which plants grow and is composed of organic matter, minerals, gases, liquids, and organisms that support plant life. Plant anchors are used to secure plants to the ground, preventing them from being uprooted by wind or other forces.
