Sal Maglie was a Major League Baseball pitcher who played for the New York Giants, Cleveland Indians, Brooklyn Dodgers, and St. Louis Cardinals from 1945 to 1958. He was known for his trademark 'SCREWBALL' pitch and was nicknamed 'The Barber' due to his habit of pitching inside and close to batters. Maglie was a five-time All-Star and won the National League ERA title in 1956. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1992.
