Ron Guidry is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who played his entire career with the New York Yankees from 1975 to 1988. He was nicknamed 'Louisiana Lightning' and 'Gator' due to his fastballs. Guidry won the 1978 American League Cy Young Award, and was a four-time All-Star. He also won five Gold Glove Awards and led the AL in strikeouts in 1976 and 1978. Guidry retired with a 170-91 record and a 3.29 ERA.
