Pindaric Piece is a type of poem known as an ODE (3 letters). An ODE is a lyrical poem that expresses strong emotion and is usually written in a formal style. Pindaric Pieces are named after the ancient Greek poet, Pindar, and are composed of three parts: a strophe, an antistrophe, and an epode. The strophe and antistrophe are composed of similar lines and the epode is composed of different lines. Pindaric Pieces are often used to praise or commemorate a person or event.
