Pierre's WORD is a three-letter WORD, MOT, which is French for 'WORD'. It was coined by the French philosopher and mathematician Pierre Simon de Laplace (1749-1827). He used it to refer to the fundamental elements of language, such as words, phrases, and sentences. He believed that these elements were the building blocks of all communication and understanding. Pierre's WORD has since been adopted by linguists and philosophers to refer to the basic units of language.
