Pierce Player Alan ALDA is an American actor, director, screenwriter, and author. He is best known for his role as Hawkeye Pierce in the television series M*A*S*H, for which he won five Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award. ALDA has also had an extensive career in film, television, and theatre, and has received numerous awards and nominations for his work. He is also a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
